Dr. Michael Mann, a director at Penn State Earth System Science Center is interviewed in this video about his research on the irreversible impacts from climate change. He states that our global ecosystem is in danger, and that there is a climate crisis approaching as soon as 2036. This danger comes from the burning of fossil fuels, and other human activities that are damaging the atmosphere. The world is experiencing severe weather changes that's not only costing our economy, but damaging agriculture, causing heat, droughts, wild fires, and if we go above the 2 degrees Celsius threshold, we will see more damages and irreversible impacts on the global ecosystem. Dr. Mann's research says that the earths carbon concentration levels have reached a height that it hasn't seen in millions of years, this is now causing changes to the atmosphere that can not be restored . He speaks in urgency for us to act now, so that we preserve the atmosphere, as to not pass tipping points because climate scientists estimates are not certain, and the damages of burning fossil fuels is actually happening at a quicker rate than predictions say. Dr. Mann also informs us that there is no "Pause" in global warming as some headlines state, but that delays in damages through greenhouse changes may buy us more time to act.
